The Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) announced today that additional counties have been added to the Presidential Disaster Declaration issued as a result of the tornadoes that hit Georgia earlier this month.
Governor Sonny Perdue released the following statement concerning the expanded declaration:
"Last weekend's storms caused damage across our state, and the addition of these counties to the federal disaster declaration means much needed assistance will be available in the areas where it is most needed. I am grateful to President Bush and FEMA Director Paulison for their quick consideration of our request."
