YKK AP America Inc. to Add 200 Jobs in Dublin Expansion
Company to Double Capacity, Invest $80 Million
ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that YKK AP America Inc., a leading manufacturer of architectural building products, will expand its facility in Dublin , Georgia , investing $80 million and creating approximately 200 jobs to double the operation's capacity by 2010.
“YKK AP America's decision to expand in Georgia is a win-win for the company and for the state,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “The region has proven it has the assets the company needs to be successful, and the community will benefit significantly from the additional jobs and investment.”
Headquartered in Austell, Georgia, YKK AP America Inc. is a subsidiary of YKK Corporation of America . YKK AP 's highly-automated, state-of-the-art Dublin plant, located in Laurens County , manufactures doors, windows and curtain wall systems under the YKK AP brand.
“We have already added a hundred jobs since 2000, and we look forward to adding another 200 positions to the Dublin facility,” said Max Mizota, president of YKK AP America Inc. “YKK AP currently employs about 530 Georgians at our YKK AP corporate headquarters office in Austell, our Atlanta sales branch and in our Dublin manufacturing plant.”
“Since we first came to Dublin to establish manufacturing operations for our commercial architectural building products in 1992, we have enjoyed great support from the state of Georgia and the local community. The leadership is forward-thinking and the workforce is well-trained,” added Alex Gregory, president and CEO of YKK Corporation of America , headquartered in Marietta , Ga.
