Is 'Sonny' really the Governor's name?
Governor Perdue's given name is George Ervin Perdue. He has been called "Sonny" since he was a small child. He prefers "Sonny" and was sworn in as Sonny Perdue.

How do I get to the Capitol? Where do I park?
From the South
Take I-75/85 North to Exit 245 (Capitol Avenue). At the end of the exit ramp, continue straight through the stop sign. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Hank Aaron Drive. (The name will change to Capitol Avenue). The State Capitol is on your left. For parking, continue on Capitol Avenue crossing over MLK Jr. Drive to the Sloppy Floyd/Twin Towers complex on your right.
From the North
Take I-75/85 South to Exit 248A (MLK, Jr. Drive) and veer right onto MLK, Jr. Drive. The Capitol will be on your left. For parking, turn right at second light onto Capitol Avenue and parking will be on your right at the Sloppy Floyd/Twin Towers complex. From the East Take I20 West to Exit 58A (Capitol Avenue). Turn right and continue on Capitol Avenue. The State Capitol is on your left.
From the West
Take I-20 to Exit 56B (Windsor Street/Spring Street/Stadium). At the third light, turn left onto Central Avenue. Go to Mitchell Street and turn right. Go one block and the capitol will be on the left.
MARTA
MARTA is also an option for transportation to the State Capitol. MARTA exits located nearest the Capitol are the Georgia State Station (directly across from the Capitol in the Sloppy Floyd/Twin Towers complex) or the Five Points station (two blocks west of the Capitol at Underground Atlanta.) Additional Parking: Underground Atlanta and Steve Polk Plaza parking lots are both located on MLK, Jr. Drive one block west of the Capitol.

Georgia's U.S. Senators are Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson. Your U.S. representatives can be found at www.house.gov. Your state legislators can be found at www.legis.state.ga.us.
