Governor Perdue Orders Flags on State Capitol Lowered to Half-Staff in Honor of Representative Henry Bostick
ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue ordered flags on the State Capitol building and grounds be flown at half-staff in memory of former State Representative Henry Bostick, today, Thursday, April 27, 2006 – the day of his funeral. Representative Bostick served in the Georgia House of Representatives between the years of 1958 and 1996, representing Tift County.
“Henry Bostick was a champion of Tift County and will be forever remembered as a decorated veteran, loyal public servant and southern gentleman,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “He loved his country and the state of Georgia, and he will be genuinely missed by his family and friends.”

Executive Order
FLAG ON CAPITOL BUILDING ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF STAFF
WHEREAS: The Honorable Henry Bostick was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1958; and
WHEREAS: Representative Bostick served with distinction and faithfully represented the people of Georgia’s 165th House District in the General Assembly for over twenty years; and
WHEREAS: Henry Bostick honorably served and defended his country in the United States Navy.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF THE HONORABLE HENRY BOSTICK AND HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED: That the flag of the United States and the flag of this State be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol building and grounds on Thursday, April 27, 2006, the day of his funeral, until sunset.
