Governor and First Lady Host Little League Celebration at Governor's Mansion

ATLANTA – Governor and Mrs. Perdue hosted players and families of the 2006 Columbus Northern and 2007 Warner Robins American Little League teams at the Governor's Mansion today from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Both teams were victorious in their respective years as World Series Little League Champions.
"Mary and I enjoyed celebrating Georgia's back to back victories in the Little League World series," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "It was our honor to open the Governor's mansion to these young, dedicated athletes to celebrate their momentous victories"
The two teams played a fun, friendly game of Wiffle Ball with equipment donated by the Atlanta Braves baseball team. Players were red and blue t-shirts, donated by Russell Athletic, to designate their team.
Activities throughout the evening included amusements provided by the Atlanta Sports Council and Corporate Events including a deejay, 24' rock climbing wall, inflatable obstacle course, inflatable bungee run, inflatable treehouse slide and ping pong tables. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources provided a petting zoo of snakes and reptiles, as well as virtual shooting and fishing games. "Homer" the Braves mascot also attended.
